How it works

01Say what the post is aboutA line of text, or switch to Image mode, drop a photo and let it read the mood, colours and setting.
02Pick platform, tone and languageInstagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts or YouTube. 19 tones. 12 languages, each written in its own voice rather than translated.
03Get three takes, check the fold, copyThree genuinely different angles. On Instagram the hook is measured in the app’s real typography where it gets cut, one line on a Reel and up to two on a photo post, so you know it survives.

Instagram’s rules, built in

The foldOne line on a Reel, up to two on a postA Reel shows one line of caption, in the Reels player and in the home feed, where your username shares it. Photo posts and carousels show up to two lines before “… more”. Your hook is rendered at Instagram’s width and font for each and measured, so emoji, non-Latin script and line breaks all count correctly: it is a layout check, not a character count.
LengthUnder 150 or over 500Short wins on wit, long wins on storytelling. The 200–400 middle underperforms, so the generator never lands there.
HashtagsThree to five, written as search termsHashtags are content labels now, not reach. #MorningCoffeeRitual, not #coffee.
SignalsShares and saves, not likesCopy is written to be worth saving. No “tag a friend” and no “like if you agree”, which the algorithm now penalises.

Instagram questions

How long should an Instagram caption be?

Either under 150 characters or over 500. The middle range gets fewer saves and shares, so the generator writes short or long, never medium.

How many hashtags should I use on Instagram?

Three to five, written as the phrase someone would search. Instagram treats hashtags as topic labels rather than reach drivers.

Does the fold check work for Reels and carousels?

Yes, and they are cut differently. A Reel shows one line: over the video in the Reels player, ending in “…”, and in the home feed, where your username comes first on the line and it ends in “… more”. The check always measures the player, and the home feed once you add your username, since it starts that line; the hook has to survive each. Photo posts and carousels show up to two lines before “… more”, and are checked against that.

Can I see how the post will look?

Yes. The phone preview shows your caption exactly where Instagram cuts it, with the hidden part greyed out below the fold line. A Reel is shown twice, in the Reels player and in the home feed, since it is cut in both.
