Bollywood-style background music, no copyright

Bollywood background music you can use without a copyright claim has to be original, because film songs and their scores belong to the labels. These are original instrumentals in that style, and one is free to download with a free account. What most people mean by Bollywood background music is not the songs — it is the score underneath: strings that swell at the right moment, a bansuri line over a slow build, a sitar phrase that tells you the scene is Indian before anyone speaks. These are original instrumentals written in that style. There are no film songs here, no covers and no samples from films, which is the only reason they can be licensed to you at all.

Why the film song itself gets you claimed

Hindi film songs and their scores belong to the music labels that bought them, and those labels register them with YouTube’s Content ID. Put eight seconds of a hit under a wedding teaser or a travel montage and a claim usually follows soon after upload — the label can then take the video’s ad revenue, block it in some countries or mute it. Crediting the film does not change that, and neither does “no copyright intended” in the description.

What makes music sound like a Hindi film score

Three things do most of the work. The instruments: sitar, sarangi, bansuri, tabla and tanpura carry the Indian identity, while strings and piano carry the emotion. The shape: film scores build — a quiet opening, a lift, a full release — so the music can follow a scene rather than sit behind it. And the melody: lines drawn from raga give the music its colour, even when everything around them is modern production.

The albums here lean on different parts of that. RAGA NOIR is the classical side, sitar, sarangi, bansuri, tabla and tanpura with cinematic production. MONSOON is the rain-soaked emotional score, bansuri and sarangi over warm strings and atmosphere. Golden Hour India is the modern travel-film sound, organic Indian textures over contemporary cinematic production. Alaap is wordless Indian classical voice, for the moments that need a human voice without a lyric in the way. PAHAD is the mountain film, Himachali folk with a cinematic lift.

Scoring a scene with it

Pick the emotion first and the album second. Longing and distance — leaving home, the last day of a trip — suit PAHAD’s Ghar Se Door or Alaap’s Viraha. Grandeur and heritage — forts, palaces, a family’s story — suit Prithvi Rise Of Earth or Kalank Tears Of The Desert from the Singles collection. For a bride’s entrance or a love story, try RAGA NOIR’s Raani. For rain, nostalgia and the city at night, MONSOON.

Then cut the scene to the music’s build rather than laying music under a finished cut. Let the lift arrive with your best shot, and let a quiet passage carry the moment before it — that contrast is most of what makes a film score feel like one.

Common questions

Are these Bollywood songs, or remakes of film music?+

Neither. They are original instrumentals made in the style of a Hindi film score. None of them reuses a melody, lyric or recording from a film — which matters, because a remake or cover of a film song still belongs to the label that owns the original composition, however different it sounds.

Can I credit the film instead of buying a licence?+

No. A credit is not permission. The claim comes from the label’s Content ID match, not from whether you named the film, and “no copyright intended” in a description has never stopped one.

Is any of this music free to download?+

Yes — Window Seat and Ghar Se Door are free with a free iReelz account: the full track without the preview watermark, and a licence certificate in your name. The free licence covers one personal, non-monetized project per download on YouTube, Instagram or TikTok, with “Music by iReelz” in the description. For monetized videos, client work or using a track again and again, buy the album — its licence covers every track on it in unlimited projects.

Will I get a YouTube copyright claim for using these tracks?+

iReelz does not register its music with YouTube’s Content ID, and every licence forbids the buyer from registering it too — so the automatic matching that claims borrowed film songs has nothing of ours on file to match. If a claim appears anyway, dispute it in YouTube Studio and quote the certificate number on the licence PDF that comes with the album; anyone can check a certificate at ireelz.com/verify. A claim is also not a strike: strikes come from legal takedown requests, and iReelz is the rights holder that licensed you.

Can I use these tracks in monetized videos?+

Yes. Every album on this page is sold with Creator Pro, which covers monetized and commercial content on every platform, and client work.

Do I have to credit iReelz?+

No. Every album on this page is sold with Creator Pro, which needs no credit.

Can I use them on TV, in cinema or in ads?+

Not under the licences these albums are sold with. Broadcast, TV, film and ads need a Studio licence, and none of the albums on this page is sold at Studio — contact us if a project needs broadcast rights.

Is it a subscription? What does an album cost?+

No subscription. Each album is a one-time purchase with a perpetual licence, so videos you publish with it stay covered for good. Albums are priced by licence tier — Lite $9.99, Creator Pro $19.99 and Studio $34.99 — and buyers in India pay in rupees: ₹499, ₹999 and ₹1,999. Each album below shows its own price.
