Leader Countdown
The academy leader, locked to a tempo. A dark ground with a crosshair, one radial sweep per beat with the digit counting down inside it, and on the last beat’s downbeat the picture starts: a two-frame pop, the ground clears, and your title lands with its tracking settling.

What it's for
The academy leader, locked to a tempo. A dark ground with a crosshair, one radial sweep per beat with the digit counting down inside it, and on the last beat’s downbeat the picture starts: a two-frame pop, the ground clears, and your title lands with its tracking settling.
Reach for it when
- A cold open cut to a track from the Listening Room, where the picture should start on the downbeat
- Episode openers on a series, counting from the same number every time
- A channel trailer or a showreel, where the leader says “projection” before a frame of footage plays
How it plays
The tempo is the point. Every cut in this template is a multiple of one beat at your bpm, so laid over the track it was cut for, the sweeps land on the beat and the picture starts on the downbeat — type the tempo, or count it from the track, and the leader retimes itself. Bebas Neue for the digits and the title; the margin lines and the kicker take your brand font, the way a lab stamps its name in the margin.
Not the right pick when
Bright, quiet footage that wants a light touch — the leader is a hard black ground by design. Use the Letterbox Reveal, which frames the shot instead of hiding it.
The FILM family
FILM is the paperwork of a shoot as motion — the slate, the leader, the slug line, the credits, the grain. It is built for creators who shoot like filmmakers, and it is the one family where the typeface is the design rather than a slot: Bodoni for the credits, Bebas for the slate and the leader, Courier for the page. Nothing in it glows, leaks or flares; everything is colour with alpha, so what you see in the Studio is what lands on your timeline.
