Handle Lockup

The identity moment. The Instagram mark pops in, your handle slides out beside it, and a line lands underneath. No card and no panel, so the mark is the only colour in frame.

What it's for

The identity moment. The Instagram mark pops in, your handle slides out beside it, and a line lands underneath. No card and no panel, so the mark is the only colour in frame.

Reach for it when

  • Cross-posting to a platform where your handle differs
  • Collaboration and takeover content that needs attribution
  • Any clip likely to be reposted without credit

How it plays

Dropping the card is what makes it read as a lockup rather than a watermark, and it means your footage carries the frame instead of a panel sitting on top of it. Your @name fills in from your brand kit and can be overridden per export. "None" is a real option on the mark — the same lockup with just your name, for anywhere a platform logo does not belong.

Not the right pick when

Identifying a speaker with a name and role. Use the Glass Name Bar, which is built for that.

The SOCIAL family

SOCIAL templates are lockups rather than panels: a mark, a name, a line, and nothing under them. No card means the mark is the only colour in frame and your footage carries the rest.
