Indie

Look 03 of the cinematic family: the whole frame is warm paper and your footage sits in a window on it, like a print in a notebook. Two lines of mono type open it, a lowercase serif title sits over the window with the place in italic, the day you filmed types itself into the window as a warm date stamp, and the subtitles are set like a book, under the window and never over the picture. A diary line closes it. iReelz writes the words from what you typed or said, takes the date and the time from the clip itself, and never guesses a place or a date.

What it's for

Look 03 of the cinematic family: the whole frame is warm paper and your footage sits in a window on it, like a print in a notebook. Two lines of mono type open it, a lowercase serif title sits over the window with the place in italic, the day you filmed types itself into the window as a warm date stamp, and the subtitles are set like a book, under the window and never over the picture. A diary line closes it. iReelz writes the words from what you typed or said, takes the date and the time from the clip itself, and never guesses a place or a date.

Reach for it when

  • A travel diary: a morning somewhere, with the place named in your line
  • A day-in-the-life or a slow vlog that should feel made by hand
  • A talking Reel that wants quiet, book-set subtitles instead of pop captions
  • Anything filmed on a phone that should look like a page from a journal

How it plays

The paper opens with two mono lines, then the footage fades into its window and the title settles over it while the date stamp types in, a character on each key of the typewriter. At about four and a half seconds the window eases up to make room for the subtitles; in the last three seconds it settles again and a diary line comes in under it with a soft chime, while the music tape-stops to a halt. A camera wind, a super 8 loop and a crackle bed sit under it all, each one removable in Audio, and the voice always stays on top. The bottom third is always plain paper, where Instagram puts your caption.

Not the right pick when

An opening credit on black with letterbox bars is Classic. A strict grid with a red accent is Swiss; pastel and rounded is Soft.
