What it's for
The departure-board title. Character tiles cycle through glyphs and settle left to right into your word, landing in your accent colour.
Reach for it when
- Travel content naming a destination
- Reveals where a single word is the payoff
- Series intros built on one recurring word
How it plays
The left-to-right settle is what buys the suspense — the first characters lock while the rest are still spinning, so viewers start guessing the word before it finishes, and a guess is a much stronger form of attention than reading. Up to ten characters, and a space leaves a gap instead of a tile so two short words read as two words.
Not the right pick when
A full sentence, which will not fit and would not hold up if it did. Use the Frost Hook Title for a line of type.
The BOARD family
BOARD is the mechanical set — glyphs that physically cycle and settle rather than fading. The motion does the work, so the type can stay plain.
