What it's for

The screen a stream sits on while you are not there. STARTING SOON, BE RIGHT BACK or THANKS FOR WATCHING is set huge on a starburst that breathes over a sunburst that turns, with a narration box under it, a sticker burst wobbling in the corner and your channel on a plate at the bottom. It never stops moving and never ends: the last frame runs straight into the first.

Reach for it when

• The few minutes before a stream goes live, so the first viewers know they are in the right place
• A break mid-stream, without the chat thinking the stream has dropped
• The end card of a stream or a long upload, with the next date in the line under it

How it plays

A stream screen plays for as long as the wait lasts, so it is built as a seamless loop rather than an animation with an end: every motion completes a whole number of cycles in ten seconds, and the rays turn exactly one ray-pair, so the seam is invisible as a looping media source in OBS. Nothing counts down, because a looping countdown would lie the second time round. It is POW!
