LUTs for Filmora

Filmora ships a set of built-in looks and, less obviously, will load .cube files you bring yourself. The import lives inside the colour panel rather than anywhere labelled "import".

Filmora is a good fit for the camera packs specifically, because the log conversion arriving inside the same file means there is no two-LUT stack to build — something Filmora does not make easy.

How to add a LUT in Filmora

  1. 01

    Open the colour settings

Double-click your clip to open its settings, then go to the Color tab and find the 3D LUT section.

  2. 02

    Add your LUT

Press Add and browse to the .cube file you downloaded. It joins the preset list, so it is there for later projects too.

  3. 03

    Apply and set strength

Select your LUT to apply it, then drag the Strength slider to set how heavily it lands, and confirm with OK.

Dialling the look back in Filmora

Filmora’s Strength slider blends the LUT with the ungraded image — which on log footage means blending back toward flat. If you want a lighter look while keeping a correct conversion, download the grade at 50 or 70% and leave Strength at full.

Set 50, 70 or 100% in the LUT Library preview and the .cube is regenerated at that strength — the file itself is the lighter grade, so it lands identically wherever you load it.

Common questions

What LUT format does Filmora use?+

Standard 3D .cube files. Every one of the 175 grades in the iReelz library exports as .cube, so they load in Filmora without conversion.

Do I need a separate conversion LUT for log footage in Filmora?+

Not with the camera packs. Each of those bakes the full log-to-Rec.709 conversion into the same .cube as the look, so it is one effect in Filmora rather than a technical LUT with a creative LUT stacked on top.

Can I change the LUT strength in Filmora?+

Filmora’s Strength slider blends the LUT with the ungraded image — which on log footage means blending back toward flat. If you want a lighter look while keeping a correct conversion, download the grade at 50 or 70% and leave Strength at full.

Are there free LUTs I can try in Filmora first?+

Yes — 7 of them, one conversion grade for every camera we support, at https://ireelz.com/luts/free. Full-strength .cube files, no watermark.
